01, About
From a garden in Antananarivo to the landscapes I want to build.
I grew up in Antananarivo, Madagascar, the oldest of three daughters in a modest family. Our small house had a surprisingly large garden, and that garden became my favourite place in the world: the harmony between our plants, the red laterite ground and the vast blue sky. It was my quiet, safe place in the middle of a busy city.
As I grew older, I realised that everyone deserves spaces that offer that same feeling of calm and belonging. That is what led me to landscape architecture. Since there is no landscape architecture programme in Madagascar, I moved to Canada to study, and I am currently completing a technical programme in urban and regional planning, developing practical skills in planning, mapping and land development.
My long-term dream is to use what I learn to contribute to the sustainable development of Madagascar, through projects that strengthen communities and preserve natural landscapes.
What guides my work
Watching my parents' sacrifices taught me the value of hard work, gratitude and perseverance early on. I enjoy learning, taking on new challenges and continuously improving. Outside of my studies I value leadership, service and lifelong learning, and I spend my time gardening, exploring nature, and taking part in projects that have a positive impact on people and their surroundings.
I believe well-designed spaces improve quality of life while preserving the environment, and that a landscape should celebrate natural beauty without feeling overdesigned.
